Bridge Classrooms and Twos Program in Connecticut

BRIDGE (2-3 YEARS)

Fostering Independent Learning & Collaboration

At Strong Start, we know that two-year-olds are natural explorers; always on the move and full of questions about the world around them. Our Twos Program is designed with this boundless curiosity in mind, offering your child a warm and vibrant space to wonder, create, and connect every single day.

We believe that learning should feel like an adventure, not a chore. That’s why our Bridge Classrooms are filled with hands-on experiences and friendly faces, so your child can grow into their independence with confidence. In our care, you’ll find:

  • Safe, age-appropriate classrooms designed for curious minds and active bodies

  • Experienced educators who know how to spark discovery and nurture every child’s unique interests

  • A welcoming community where your family is always part of the journey

What is The Strong Start Twos Program?

Our Twos Program, also known as the Bridge Classroom, is built around the idea that every child is a capable, creative learner. Inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy and grounded in Connecticut’s Early Learning and Development Standards, we help your two-year-old find their voice, build friendships, and develop the skills that set the stage for a lifetime of learning.

Here’s what sets our program apart:

  • Play-based, inquiry-driven learning: Your child leads the way, guided by their own questions and interests

  • Hands-on discovery: From sensory tables to art projects, every activity is an opportunity to explore

  • Gentle support for social and emotional growth: Learning to share, express feelings, and build friendships

  • Early language and communication: Songs, stories, and daily conversations nurture your child’s budding language skills

  • Physical development: Active play, movement games, and outdoor adventures help strengthen growing bodies

Strong Start’s Bridge Classrooms are spaces where growth takes root and friendships blossom. We’ve carefully designed our Wilton, Trumbull, and Shelton locations to give your child a secure, stimulating, and joyful start to their early education journey.

What makes our classrooms stand out?

  • Inviting environments filled with natural light, age-appropriate materials, and plenty of space to explore

  • Secure entry systems and strict safety protocols, so you always have peace of mind

  • Flexible areas for both quiet play and energetic movement, supporting every mood and moment
  • Play-Based & Inquiry Learning:
Children are encouraged to follow their curiosity, ask questions, and try new things. We support each child’s interests and foster a genuine love for discovery.

  • Hands-On Exploration:
Sensory bins, art projects, and nature walks turn ordinary moments into extraordinary learning opportunities.

  • Creative Arts & Expression:
Through music, movement, and art, children develop fine motor skills, build confidence, and find their own creative voice.

  • Language & Early Communication:
Stories, songs, and peer conversations help expand vocabularies and nurture essential language skills.

  • Social-Emotional Growth:
We gently guide children as they navigate friendships, share, and express big feelings, helping them build resilience and empathy.

  • Physical Development & Movement:
Our days are full of movement; dancing, jumping, and outdoor play all help strengthen growing bodies and coordination.

Engaged, Nurturing Educators

The heart of our Twos Program is our team of passionate educators. We believe great teachers do more than guide activities; they spark curiosity, nurture self-esteem, and create a sense of belonging that lasts long after the day is done.

  • Commitment to building strong, trusting relationships with both children and families
  • Individualized care that celebrates every child’s personality and progress
